Jesolo is one of the most famous and visited seaside resorts in Italy. It is located on the Adriatic coast in the Veneto region and has long attracted visitors from all over Europe. Over the past twenty years, the city has undergone significant modernization, but it has not lost its original charm or the atmosphere of a traditional seaside holiday.
Today’s Jesolo offers visitors the comfort of a spacious beach, modern hotels, apartments, and campsites, excellent gastronomy, and a rich nightlife. At the same time, it is a place where you can find quieter zones, pine groves, bike paths, and magical corners with traces of history. It is a destination that can truly satisfy everyone – families with children, couples seeking romance, athletes, young tourists, and seniors.
Beach in Jesolo: 15 kilometres of carefully organized comfort
One of the main reasons people go to Jesolo is its well-equipped beach and clean sea. It forms an uninterrupted strip of over 15 km of fine, light golden sand, lined with hotels, apartments, restaurants, and beach bars. The beach is very well organized. It is divided into individual sectors, each offering umbrellas, sunbeds, showers, and toilets, as well as facilities for sports and children’s playgrounds.
Many hotels and apartments have sunbeds with umbrellas on the beach automatically included in the price of the stay. It is good to verify this information when booking. For those who want more comfort or a better location, it is possible to order sunbeds and umbrellas online or directly on-site. In the high season (July–August), it is recommended to book in advance due to high tourist interest.
There are also freely accessible public sections of the beach where you can relax without a fee.

Beaches ideal for families with children and dogs
Jesolo is also a perfect choice for families with children. In addition to the classic beach services, there are children’s playgrounds, animation programs, and a safely shallow entrance to the water with quality maintenance and high cleanliness.
Not far from the beach, you will also find Caribe Bay, a resort awarded first prize for the best-themed water park in Italy, designed in the spirit of an exotic Caribbean paradise with palm trees, white sand, lagoons, and a pirate theme. The park has more than 25 attractions for children and adults.
The coast also includes equipped dog beaches, such as Bau Bau Beach, which is a place with complete facilities for visitors with four-legged companions. You will find water bowls, dog showers, and plenty of space. In addition, there is space for agility and more.
Facilities
The beach in Jesolo is known for its regular maintenance. Every morning the sand is machine-cleaned, and trash is collected several times a day. Everything is designed to make the beach comfortable, clean, and safe.
Promenade
The main street Via Bafile turns into a pedestrian zone from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM. During these hours, it becomes a lively promenade full of shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars where people of all ages meet. The atmosphere is friendly and vibrant, yet pleasant and safe. Discotheques and beach bars right on the beach attract the younger generation, while a romantic walk along the promenade is an experience for everyone.

Modern and trendy resort with a story
Since 2000, Jesolo has transformed significantly and become a modern seaside resort. New infrastructure has been built, including a wide pedestrian promenade lungomare, modern hotels, and residential complexes with views of the Adriatic. Architecturally interesting high-rise buildings have also been created here, giving the city a distinctive modern silhouette.
However, the city also takes care of the quality of life and sports activities. New parks, sports fields, bike paths, and green areas have been created. Jesolo is now an example of a modern tourist centre that emphasises services and the environment.
Lungomare delle Stelle – promenade of stars
Lungomare delle Stelle is the Italian equivalent of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Along the sea promenade, you will find handprints and signatures of famous personalities from Italian film, music, and sports – such as Alberto Sordi (actor and comedian), Sophia Loren (actress), Andrea Bocelli (opera singer), or Federica Pellegrini (swimmer, Olympic winner, and world champion).
In the evening, the promenade is beautifully lit and full of people enjoying a walk among bars, cafes, and shops.
Trendy resort
Jesolo ranked first in the Italian consumer ranking of destinations for summer 2025 among the most fashionable and “trendy” resorts in Italy. In the category of the most popular destinations for the younger generation, it took third place. The overall voting was based on thousands of votes from Italian tourists who rated the attractiveness and image of individual places. It is a brand perception survey that shows how strongly Jesolo is perceived in Italy as a modern and attractive destination for a summer holiday.
Jesolo has long been among the most visited seaside resorts in Italy. It regularly ranks in the top five most sought-after summer destinations along with places like Rimini, Riccione, or Caorle. Within the Veneto region, it consistently holds the position of the most visited seaside town. In 2023 alone, over 6 million overnight stays were recorded here. These numbers confirm Jesolo’s significance not only as a modern and trendy destination but also as a solid staple among the main holiday destinations in Italy.

Division of Jesolo
Jesolo Lido is divided into several areas, each with its character:
Pineta is a pine grove towards the village of Cortellazzo, to the Laguna del Mort, and Eraclea Mare, (direction Caorle) with many campsites and nature trails. It is ideal for relaxation in nature.
Lido Ovest – the western part towards the Faro di Jesolo lighthouse, with a marina and large campsites, suitable for families seeking a quieter environment. Direction Cavallino Trepoti, Punta Sabbioni.

Campsites
Jesolo is also famous for its campsites. In Faro (at the lighthouse), at the end of the city, you will find large campsites with direct access to the beach, swimming pools, sports fields, and animation programs. Between Jesolo and Punta Sabbioni (the port from which boats depart across the lagoon to Venice), you will find almost thirty of them in the Cavallino Treporti area. They are ideal for families with children and for those who want comfortable facilities by the sea.
Pineta offers campsites nestled in a pine forest, boasting a pleasant climate and direct beach access. It is an ideal choice for those who want peace, nature, and the opportunity to relax far from the main hustle and bustle of the centre.

- Golf Club Jesolo – 18-hole course close to the beach.

- Family attractions – amusement park, mini-golf, Tropicarium Park aquarium.

Jesolo Paese
Jesolo Paese is the original part of the city located just a few kilometres from the coast, where Jesolo itself historically originated. There are cafes, offices, shops, and a church. In the fields behind the church, you will also find the archaeological site Antiche Mura.
Antiche Mura: A trip tip
Antiche Mura di Jesolo is an archaeological site with the remains of an early Christian cathedral, the church of San Mauro, and a Roman “Mansio,” a stop for travellers and merchants. Research has been ongoing here since the 1960s.
However, do not expect extensive exploration; it is essentially a single view of a wall ruin under scaffolding, but the place has a pleasant atmosphere, a field path leads here, and the whole area feels rural, like real countryside. It includes the agritourism estate Antiche Mura, where you can have a glass of wine and taste local products. If you want to take a trip outside the bustling resort and tourism centre, combine a visit to Antiche Mura with a tour of Jesolo Paese.

How to get there
From Jesolo Lido, you can comfortably reach Antiche Mura by ATVO bus (lines 10A, 19A), by bike on safe routes, or by car. The journey from the centre takes just a few minutes and is an ideal opportunity to enrich your stay by the sea with a trip into history and the authentic atmosphere of the Venetian lagoon.

Trip to Venice
If you choose a summer holiday in Jesolo, a visit to Venice is an obvious choice.
From Jesolo, the most common way to Venice is via Punta Sabbioni:
- By bus from Jesolo (approx. 30–40 min).
- From there, regular boat connections (Vaporetto) directly to St. Mark’s Square (30–35 min ride).
- Boats run very frequently, in season even every 30 minutes.
In Venice, from 2024, there is an entrance fee to the historic centre on selected days and times (from Friday to Sunday). The fee applies to day visitors over 14 years old who are not staying in Venice. In 2025, the fee is set at 5 Euros (payment up to 4 days before the visit and 10 Euros 1-3 days before the visit. The fee can only be paid online.

Conclusion
Jesolo today offers modern services, a well-organised beach, rich sports and cultural activities, excellent gastronomy, and the opportunity to discover lesser-known, quieter parts of history. It is an ideal destination for anyone looking for a quality seaside holiday in Italy.
